Understanding reincarnation
Reincarnation literally means the return to the physical body. The belief is held that at death the soul exits one body and returns at some point to another physical form. The subject of reincarnation can mean different things to different people and it varies with different religions and cultures.
Reincarnation is a theory, a belief system, a philosophy that can help to explain the mysteries of life.
Why believe in
reincarnation?
As humans we have many unanswered questions that are repeated over and over generation after generation.
-
Who are we?
-
Why are we here?
-
Where do we come from?
-
Where do we go from here?
-
Why are we here at all?
-
Why do we suffer from pain?
It is easy to go through life with the concept that we are born, we live and then we die and that’s all there is to it. With this theory it makes life empty and worthless. With the concept of reincarnation we are able to make more sense of the question as to our purpose here. It can help to give more purpose and meaning to our lives.
It may never be proven beyond any doubt that reincarnation is fact, even when accurate historical and previously unknown information is given during hypnotic regressions or even spontaneous memories of previous lives it can not be taken as objective proof of lives before lives it can only be taken as suggestive evidence of reincarnation. Yet even with out the all elusive proof the benefits of understanding the philosophy behind reincarnation can have great benefits for personal growth, empowerment, healing and enlightenment.
How do souls
reincarnate?
Generally in Eastern philosophy the theory is that people are perceived to be on a journey, the wheel of life, and that their actions in one life will lead to the appropriate learning and balance through cause and effect. They are thought of as having little choice in their destiny and work out their karma.
A different although similar view is that we do have some say in the choice of our next life. The purpose of each life time is to undergo learning that will enable our soul to grow at a spiritual level. Our karma influences our choices.
At the time of physical death the soul (higher self, consciousness, spirit, energy) is able to be free from the physical constraints of the body and moves into a place of higher spiritual existence. (Heaven, spirit world, etc) This spiritual place is a time for rest and reflection on the previous life learning. At some time the choice is made to return to the physical to carry on the learning that allows us to evolve on the spiritual side.
Why do souls
reincarnate?
The general opinion is that we as souls return to accomplish our spiritual evolution. The reasons and the need to reincarnate can be many including some of the following:
-
To complete a task
-
To finish unresolved business
-
To Right a wrong
-
To continue a relationship
-
To learn an important lesson
